Open Gardens 2021 – we need you!

26th Mar 2021

Open Gardens are back and we need your help!

We are delighted that this year’s Open Gardens will be taking place, after Covid-19 forced nearly all openings to be cancelled last year. We have been asked to provide teas and volunteers at 26 garden openings throughout 2021, which is a wonderful chance for us to get out and about talking to people about FSW’s work as well as raise vital funds.

This is where we need your help – we are looking for people to volunteer to support these dates, either by baking cakes, serving refreshments or a combination of both! Many of our wonderful deanery committee members are already supporting us, but we are in real need of other volunteers as well. As a volunteer on the day you would be serving tea and cakes to the garden visitors as well as helping to set up on the day and tidy up afterwards. As a baker we would simply need your commitment to baking one or more cakes for a particular date – we need between 15 and 20 cakes for each garden opening.

All the gardens are open in the afternoons, so the time commitment required for volunteering on the day is in the region of 5 hours. We need 3 or 4 helpers for each date so it is a wonderful opportunity for a small group of friends or colleagues to get together and do something incredibly rewarding (with the added benefit of visiting some of Sussex’s most beautiful private gardens). If you are able to support us in any way with these dates, please click here to complete our Open Gardens volunteer form.

If you’d like any more information about Open Gardens or have any questions, please get in touch with Nikki by email nikki@familysupportwork.org.uk.
