Following the apology made by the Archbishop of Canterbury on Thursday 18 June 2026 we wish to add our apologies to the women who experienced the pain of forced adoption during our time as an Adoption Agency.

We recognise that the pain and suffering that the women experienced at the time and throughout their lives is unacceptable and should not have happened.

All the records relating to our adoption work were transferred to the East Sussex Adoption Team in 1985 when we gave up the work. Currently those records are now held by Adoption South East at Adopted Adults Business Support, 1st Floor, Quadrant Court, 35 Guildford Road, Woking, Surrey GU22 7QQ (www.adoptionsoutheast.org.uk/adopted-adults/my-birth-certificate/my-adoption-records )
