Amberley – Arundel Sponsored Walk, in aid of FSW – Thursday 23 August 2018

FSW is delighted to invite you to walk from Amberley to Arundel with us again this summer, to raise funds and help sustain our vital work in supporting children and families in Sussex. The walk combines town and countryside, with the option of an 8.7-mile main route or a self-guided walk suitable for families with younger children. Both options give the flexibility of travel by car or train.

Route 1 – A picturesque 8.7-mile route starting at Amberley Station. The walk mainly follows the River Arun down to Arundel. In Arundel, you can enjoy a refreshment stop at St Nicholas’ Church, with delicious savouries and cakes on offer. The return route takes you through Arundel park and back up the river to Amberley.

Route 2 – A shorter 2.6-mile self-guided circular route within Arundel taking in the refreshment stop at St Nicholas’ Church.

Please note that there is limited parking available at Amberley Station. As an alternative there is roadside parking available within the village of North Stoke and you could join the route there. There are no public toilets at Amberley Station, but there is a coffee shop close by. There are portable toilets in the car park before the Black Rabbit pub. Once in Arundel, toilets are easily accessible. Dogs on a lead are allowed within Arundel park. The walk coincides with the Arundel festival.

If you feel unable to walk but would like to help, we will need volunteers to help register and guide walkers, plus road marshals for Amberley Station, as well as cake bakers and refreshment makers. Please contact Melissa in Fundraising to let us know if you are able to help. Alternatively, simply sponsor someone else to walk or make a donation to support this event.

To make sponsorship easier why not set up your own Just Giving page by going to www.justgiving.com/chichesterdiocesan/donate and click on ‘fundraise for us’ to set up your own page.

We do hope you will be able to join us and we look forward to receiving your completed registration form by Friday 17 August.

Your support is much appreciated.
