Examples of projects recently undertaken with the support of local authorities and clinical commissioning groups:

Bognor Regis Town Council

We were grateful for a small grant from Bognor Regis Town Council towards play activities at the Regis Centre in the town. The cheque was presented at an awards evening attended by a number of local charities.

Receiving support from local councils helps with building local partnerships in different areas of Sussex. We attend community sector forums and events whenever possible, to share information about local need and develop collaborative relationships.

Mid Sussex District Council

MSDC awarded us a small grant towards a weekly coffee morning for isolated parents in the Haywards Heath area. The grant covered the cost of refreshments and transport for those who need it.

FSW is not currently commissioned by local authorities to deliver services, but appreciates support towards our work with vulnerable children and families in East and West Sussex.

Hastings & Rother CCG

We received a grant from Hastings & Rother Clinical Commissioning Group to run two ‘Healthy Eating, Budgeting and Shopping’ groups for parents in Hastings and to provide healthy food awareness activities at our monthly after school club.

Parents reported that their families are eating more fruit and vegetables and children are more involved in choosing and cooking healthy meals.
