We greatly appreciate the efforts of churches, schools and community groups who fundraise for Family Support Work. Some examples of recent support:

St Mary de Haura, Shoreham

St Mary de Haura Church in Shoreham celebrate Teddy Bear weekend each year with a special ‘Bring Your Bear to Church’ service followed by a Teddy Bear picnic. A collection is held for Family Support Work.

The church, like many others in the Diocese, has an FSW representative who helps to publicise FSW’s work by displaying posters and leaflets and talking to the congregation about what we do.

Hurstpierpoint College

The School invited FSW’s Director Martin Auton-Lloyd to give a talk about our work. Afterwards, the pupils were keen to help children less fortunate than themselves by organising a charity day. The event raised £925 for FSW.

The pupils were motivated to help when they heard that FSW families can’t afford holidays. The amount they raised is equivalent to the cost of providing a weekend break for four children this year.

Eastbourne Rotary Clubs

Each year, the Clubs erect a special Christmas tree outside the Congress Theatre . The Tree of Light is covered in white lights and dressed with white ribbons in memory of loved ones. Each person dedicating a light is invited to write a message to remember a lost loved one.

Thanks to companies that sponsored the tree, Family Support Work received £1,400 from Eastbourne Rotary Clubs last year.
